Gospel musician Esther Igbekele has announced her mother’s death, Mary Amope Igbekele.
The singer shared the news on her Instagram page on Friday in an emotional post.
“And my mother died. Death, you took my gold away,” she wrote.
Mrs. Igbekele was recently celebrated by family members on her April 15th birthday and wedding anniversary.
Esther Igbekele began her music career in 1996 and has released several gospel albums over the years.
She has also ministered at gospel concerts in Nigeria and abroad, including in the United States and the United Kingdom.
